LA-based Matt Kivel smoothly works his way out of the shadows with his third single Violets, plucked from newly-released LP Janus.
His displacement from songwriting for various bands and going solo gave him the change he needed to creatively flow in a different direction.
The result is an almost uneasy vocal tone, jangly guitars, and obscure sonic patterns.
Matt Kivel is dark, mysterious and intriguing. Some would say all the right ingredients that make a very interesting listen.
Violets is no exception, as the track places you on a slow-motion ocean drive, with the wind wafting through your man/lady-bun, waiting for the sun to sink into the night sky.
