Stephanie Bergvelt-Vassileiou, culture editor at Notion, on Lauv's There's No Way.
I first discovered New York-based singer and songwriter Lauv (real name Ari Leff ) last year when he released singles I Like you Better and A Different Way.
A rising pop star and an electronic powerhouse, Lauv recently unveiled a duet with Julia Michaels on latest single There’s No Way. Michaels has said that the song is about ill-timed romantic feelings and, while it taps into some deep emotions, it manages to do so in a beautiful, entrancing way.
Delivering an infectious rhythm, Michaels and Lauv curate a relaxing blend of sounds that harks back to the summer.
As part of the remix package, Cat Dealers’ reworked version enhances the track’s nostalgic essence, contrasting dynamic drops with some lingering breaks.
I’m a co-founder of OuterInsight and we integrate communications, brands, influencers and content, championing pioneering individuals in the creative industries, and acts like Lauv are so exciting. With a bag of collaborations already under his belt and a North American tour on the way, I’ll be keeping a firm eye on what’s next.
