New Featured Artists Coalition CEO praises boardroom shake-up

New Featured Artists Coalition CEO Lucie Caswell has described the result of the organisation’s recent boardroom shake-up as a “savvy set up” designed to suit a changing music business.

Caswell, whose 14 years of experience in the music and entertainment sector includes a stint at PRS For Music, was unveiled as CEO last month.

She replaced Imogen Heap, who came in on a temporary basis after former incumbent Paul Pacifico joined AIM last year. Heap will now serve as the FAC’s artist in residence.

“It makes sense because you have to speak so many different languages in the industry these days, technical, legal, creative, distribution…” Caswell told Music Week. “It’s rare that you can find someone who has all of those levels of experience and insights.”

Heap, whose Artist In Residence role will become available to another musician in the future, added: “We have an amazing card to play as an organisation led by artists, for artists, so it makes sense to have an artist involved,” Heap said. “It’s a great collaboration that can happen between myself and Lucie.”
