This October sees the My Name Is Prince exhibition make its world premiere in London. On October 27, My Name is Prince will open at The O2, giving fans new insights into Prince’s life and work. The exhibition is a 21-day retrospective to mark the 21 record-breaking sold-out concerts that Prince played at The O2 in August and September 2007. The exhibition will showcase hundreds of never before seen artefacts direct from Paisley Park, including clothing from his 1984-5 Purple Rain tour and the Gibson L65 guitar used during his national television debut in 1980.
Paisley Park’s director of archives, Angie Marchese, said: “At Paisley Park, Prince constructed and inhabited a creative reality that was wholly unique, allowing him to fluidly develop music and artistic works spontaneously and without limitation. He envisioned Paisley Park as one day being opened to the public. Through this exhibition, we are expanding his dream to share with a wider audience, and allow visitors to The O2 in London to experience all his greatness through the artefacts direct from his Paisley Park Archives.”
Tickets for the exhibition will be on sale from August 25 and can be booked at www.mynameisprince.co.uk.
