Most popular David Bowie singles and albums since his death revealed

In the 12 months since his death on January 10, 2016, a total of 1.62 million albums and 1.87m singles by David Bowie have been sold.

Blackstar, released on Bowie's 69th birthday, two days before he died, was his biggest-selling LP of 2016, according to the Official Charts Company. It has sold 416,147 copies, with compilation Best Of Bowie in second place on 328,775.

Two further compilations Nothing Has Changed - The Very Best Of (2014) and Legacy (2016) are at No.3 and No.4, having moved 328,775 and 139,854 copies respectively over the past year. Hunky Dory was No.5 with sales of 82,472, less than 100 sales ahead of The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust. Aladdin Sane, The Next Day, Low and Heroes complete the Top 10. 

Heroes, the song, reached a new peak on the Official Singles Chart at No.12 in the days after Bowie's death and has been his most popular track over the past 12 months, being streamed 8.83m times and notching up almost 50,000 downloads. 

Life On Mars, which re-entered the singles chart at No.16, is second on the list after racking up 8.1m streams and  42,000 downloads in the last year. Starman re-entered the chart at No.18 and was the third most popular Bowie track with 6.86m streams and 44,000 downloads. The Top 10 alos features Let's Dance, Under Pressure, Space Oddity, Rebel Rebel, Changes, Lazarus and Ashes To Ashes.
