Katy Perry has revealed that she will be a judge on ABC's upcoming revival of American Idol. Speaking about the move on Twitter, the star said: "So thrilled @ABCNetwork is bringing back @AmericanIdol, and I'm bringing it back to the MUSIC see you at auditions." The show is set to air in 2018.
The announcement is the latest in a series of Perry-related news, with the pop star recently revealing the name of her upcoming fourth major label album - which is set to be released on June 9 - as Witness and confirming details of a world tour. This burst of activity follows in the wake of the official video for Witness' second single, Bon Appétit, and the record breaking comeback Chained To The Rhythm.
Perry's last album, 2013's Prism, has sold 438,486 copies to date, while her biggest selling album remains 2010's Teenage Dream, which has so far shifted 1,304,326 copies according to the Official Charts Company.
