Disturbing London founder Dumi Oburota has told Music Week that the wider music industry has no
choice but to “pay attention” to the surge in popularity of African music and culture.
Oburota is co-curating this weekend’s AfroRepublik festival with Wizkid and Obi Asika-Iweka of Echo Location Talent Agency. He said the event, which takes place at London’s O2 Arena on May 26, is the culmination of a sustained period of “natural growth”.
