Jennifer Blakeman has established a global music publishing company, One77 Music, with capital from private equity firm Virgo Investment Group. The new company has also partnered with Kobalt on global administration.
The former recording artist and keyboard player recently served as chief creative officer for Atlas Music Publishing. She was previously SVP creative at Universal Music Publishing.
The launch of the new publisher follows a trend for investors to increasinly move into copyrights, including Kobalt and the planned IPO for Hipgnosis Songs.
Blakeman is president and chief creative officer of One77 Music, which has launched with a 6,000-song catalogue of contemporary and classic hits, a roster of producers and songwriters, and additional funds earmarked for acquisitions and co-publishing deals.

The catalogue includes songs recorded by artists such as Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Pink and Kelly Clarkson. The active roster includes three-time Grammy winner Sean Garrett, Mike & Keys and Tdot Illdude.
