US rock band Kings of Leon have signed a US representation deal for their repertoire with Nashville-based collective management organisation SESAC. The band were previously affiliated with New York-based ASCAP.
The deal was brokered by SESAC’s Sam Kling, Senior Vice President of Creative Operations, and J.D. Connell, SESAC’s Vice President & Counsel, New Media Licensing. Songwriters joining SESAC recently include Randy Newman, Green Day and Mariah Carey.
"Few rock bands have garnered a global following as extensive as Kings of Leon,” commented SESAC Chairman/CEO John Josephson. "The band’s musical influence, as both songwriters and performers, has spread from the United States to the U.K. and Australia and well beyond. SESAC is proud to welcome Caleb Followill, Nathan Followill, Jared Followill and Matthew Followill to our affiliate family.”
