Downtown Music Publishing has acquired Salli Isaak Songs and Salli Isaak Music Publishing.
The companies include Jimmy Napes and Paloma Faith on their rosters, and boast credits for 20 UK Top 10 singles and nine No.1s.
“We are very pleased that our writers and their incredible songs will now sit alongside the wonderful and prestigious catalogue that Downtown continues to build,” said Nick Raphael, who co-founded both companies with Jo Charrington in 2006.
Downtown’s managing director of UK operations Roberto Neri welcomed the deal, praising Faith and Napes – who has written with Sam Smith, with whom he won an Oscar, James Bay and Clean Bandit among many others – for their songwriting talents.
“We are so grateful to Nick and Jo who signed these incredible songwriters, who have created worldwide evergreens that we will be listening to and singing for many decades to come,” he said.
“This is an incredible acquisition for our company and we are absolutely thrilled to be working with Jimmy, Paloma, and the other exciting songwriters on the roster.”
Downtown recently announced the hiring of Peter Rosenthal as its new general counsel and picked up the Sync Team – Independent Publisher award at the 2018 Music Week Sync Awards.
