Fuga has acquired full ownership of Nashville rights management and creative organisation Songspace.
Songspace, which deals with publishing assets and data, will continue to fucntion as a standalone platform with its entire leadership remaining in place. Fuga plans to invest in the company over the next two years to expand its offering.
Songspace CIO/CTO Darren Briggs said: “The combined strength and capabilities of the Songspace and FUGA teams and technologies position us to expand and enrich our agnostic products and services across the entire music IP and rights lifecycle.”
Songspace co-founder and director of engineering, Christopher Igoe, added: “I’m personally excited to deliver new features and improvements even faster while improving music metadata for all of our current and future clients.”
The combination of Fuga and Songspace brings together their respective clientbases. Songspace works with 250 publishers and record labels including Kobalt, Reservoir Media, Downtown Music Publishing, Big Deal Music and Sentric, while FUGA has more than 500 clients including Epitaph Records, Ultra, DominoCurb, Mom + Pop, and Mtheory.

Fuga's presence in North America is also set to grow thanks to Songspace’s Nashville base.
