Warner buys Roadrunner Music

The deal will see Nickelback, Slipknot, Stone Sour, Trivium, Theory of a Deadman and Killswitch Engage join Warner's roster, for around $73.5m. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval in Germany, expected January 2007.
In the US Roadrunner will become a freestanding label group within WMG's Atlantic Records Group. Roadrunner's international affiliates will become freestanding units within WMG's Warner Music International, while Roadrunner's MD Cees Wessels will continue to run the company he founded.
