It appears the company, which was founded by Guy Holmes 20 years ago, has become the latest big UK indie to fall into difficulties as labels try to come to terms with falling physical sales and the changing market landscape.

However, it is understood Gut and its various operations - including regional promotions company Intermedia - were not in administration as Music Weekwent to press last Friday.
