Despite a significant rise in streaming revenues, the French recorded music market has experienced another year with negative growth. Total revenues dropped by 4.7% in 2015, compared to 2014, according to statistics released by industry trade body SNEP.
Overall, recorded music revenues in France reached €543 million in 2015, down from €570m in 2014. Digital revenues grew 14.7% to €152.3m, while physical sales reduced by 15.9% to €273.7m. Neighbouring rights collections for the performance of sound recordings reached €117m, up 4.5% from 2014’s €112m.
