The global electronic music industry is now worth $6.2 billion per year, according to 2014’s IMS Business Report.
The figure is up $1.7bn from last year, when estimates pit the industry’s worth at $4.5bn.
Revenue from music counts for $1.4bn (23%) while festivals and clubs make up the majority at $4.2bn (68%).
Sales of DJ software and hardware, DJ earnings from additional sources and the value of other platforms such as Soundcloud make up the rest at $0.6bn (9%).
