Copyright Royalty Board holds US publishing rates

In a long-awaited ruling, the CRB yesterday unveiled a rate for songwriters and publishers of 9.1 cents per song for digital downloads, while the CRB's three judges decided that the rate for physical products should remain at 9.1 cents.

This was less than the 12.5 cents per song the National Music Publishers Association had called for, but better than the rate of six cents lobbied for by the RIAA on behalf of record labels.
