Andre Paine has been appointed news editor of Music Week.
Paine, a former global news editor at Billboard, starts at Music Week on 31 July. In his new role, he will lead Music Week’s news coverage across print, online and social media.
Paine has occupied a number of high-profile music and entertainment journalism roles, including Evening Standard news reporter, broadcast/online journalist at BBC 6 Music and news editor at NME. He was recently editor of Future PLC’s Crime Scene magazine, a sister title to Total Film. He is also a longstanding music critic for the Evening Standard.
“I am delighted to be joining Music Week at such an exciting time for the industry,” said Paine. “I look forward to reporting on the evolving music business and the industry success stories.”
