Promotions executive Kevin McCabe has launched his own bespoke company, Kevin McCabe Promotions.
McCabe has worked for high-profile artists going back to the ‘90s, and the new company reunites him with former client Kylie Minogue.
For the past four years, McCabe has been part of the UK management team at Caroline International, along with running the promotions team at Caroline International and working on special projects for other UMG labels (including Glen Campbell, REM, Genesis). Prior to that he was SVP of media for EMI Music and also the Parlophone Label Group before the Warners acquisition.
While at Caroline, McCabe continued to work with his long-term clients Radiohead and Pet Shop Boys, who will be represented by his new company.
Following his launch as an independent, he has taken on artists from the Caroline International roster, including Tracey Thorn, Nathaniel Rateliff and Gaz Coombes, who releases new album World’s Strongest Man on May 4.
The roster of clients also includes Franz Ferdinand and The Damned, alongside continuing relationships with Simple Minds and The Pretenders.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Caroline International and UMG and I'm very grateful for the opportunity that David Joseph, Michael Roe and Jim Chancellor gave me to work and learn there,” said McCabe. “However, I now feel that this is the right time to branch out on my own and experience working with different artists, labels and management companies".
When BMG asked if I'd be interested in working with Kylie again, I jumped at the chance

The reunion with Kylie comes ahead of a new album to be released by BMG.
"When I received the call from Jamie Nelson and BMG asking if I would be interested in working with Kylie again, I jumped at the chance,” he said. “Her new album is quite simply to me her 'career record' - it is a stunning collection of songs and one that I cannot wait to take to radio.”
He added: "It's a very busy start to the year, but one that is full of real quality music. The Gaz Coombes album is nothing short of a masterpiece, the Simple Minds album is up there in their top drawer of work, Tracey Thorn has delivered a wonderful collection of songs and the Tony Visconti-produced album for The Damned is going to turn heads. I'm thrilled to be representing these artists in 2018 and look forward to working with other new clients".
McCabe has started the year with a first national radio playlist (B-list at BBC Radio 2) for new Communion artist Joseph J Jones.
