The BBC has announced its ten strong longlist of new talent for the BBC Sound of 2019 poll.
The showcase of potential future stars, voted for by pundits from radio, television, press, online, live and several BBC properties, features only one band while recent Music Week On The Radar star Rosalía Catalan is the first Spanish singing act to feature the poll's 17 year history.
The full BBC Sound Of 2019 longlist is:
Grace Carter
Flohio
Dermot Kennedy
King Princess
Mahalia Casual
Ella Mai
Octavian
Rosalía Catalan
Sea Girls
Slowthai
"The list is filled with incredibly talented people and is a real reflection of where music is heading in 2019," suggested BBC Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac. "So many of the artists are truly innovating in their fields. It's exciting to champion new music across the BBC and share these artists with the audience."
A top five from the list will be revealed in January, while an overall winner will be confirmed on January 11.
Last year's BBC Sound Of was won by Sigrid, who recently announced her plans to release a debut album.
