Music Week coverstar and one of the bright lights of the UK’s burgeoning country music scene, Catherine McGrath, has announced a new management deal. McGrath has entered into a co-management JV between Rocket Music and her long term managers Conrad Withey, Abi Hanna and their team at Instrumental.
Elton John, who discovered McGrath while researching new artists for his Beats1 Rocket Hour show, said: “Catherine is one of those rare talents that seemingly appear from nowhere and from the very first moment you hear her, you just know this is the start of something absolutely huge. Her voice and the quality of her songwriting are undeniable, and I've absolutely no doubt that she's going be at the very forefront of artists pushing country music more and more into the UK mainstream in the coming years.”
McGrath, who first appeared in Music Week’s On The Radar back in March 2017, releases her debut album Talk Of This Town today (July 27) via Warner Bros. Records.
Speaking to Music Week in her January 2018 cover feature, McGrath said: "I think my music is a blend of country and pop. But country music is so much about storytelling and lyrics and I think the pop comes through in the production. That’s why I fell in love with country music, because of the lyrics and everything felt so real. I hope other people can see that as well.”
