The music industry has taken to Twitter to pay tribute to the life and work of David Enthoven.
Enthoven, who served as Robbie Williams’ manager for 20 years, was a much loved and respected figure in the music industry. Williams confirmed his death on Twitter last night, describing him as his “friend, mentor and hero”.
A spokesperson for the MMF said: "We are very sad that long-time manager and MMF supporter David Enthoven has passed away today after a short illness. David will be remembered as a true friend, an exemplary colleague, a helpful mentor and a truly exceptional human being.
"Our thoughts are with all the artists and team he worked with at IE Music and of course his family. Big Hugs David. We will miss you."
Overnight and throughout today, figures from across the industry have paid their respects to Enthoven on Twitter. Among those paying tribute are Williams, Blur drummer Dave Rowntree, the BPI, Ladyhawke and many more.
Enthoven managed and named the band T Rex, and also worked with Brian Eno and Roxy Music after founding EG Records.
