The inside story of The xx's historic Brixton 'mini-festival'

Hometown pride was the motivation for The xx’s record-breaking residency at O2 Academy Brixton, according to the band’s agent.

The trio have sold out all seven Brixton shows, which run until March 15, also reaching capacity for two nights at O2 Apollo Manchester and maiden arena dates in Nottingham and Cardiff, in what is their first UK tour in four years.
