Slam Dunk Festival unveils Hatfield site move as Jimmy Eat World confirmed as headliners

Slam Dunk Festival has unveiled the first six acts and a new venue for its 2018 edition.

Jimmy Eat World (pictured) will headline the event, which will also feature Talking Back Sunday, Sleeping With Sirens, State Champs, Four Year Strong and Trash Boat.

The travelling festival begins in its "spiritual home" of Leeds City Centre on Saturday, May 26, before moving south to the new venue of Hatfield Park on Sunday, May 27. It concludes in the Midlands at Birmingham NEC on Bank Holiday Monday.

"Slam Dunk Festival South has been taking place in Hatfield [at the University Of Hertfordshire] since 2010 so the town has truly become our home. Therefore, I am extremely happy we managed to find a new site still within the town," said festival director Ben Ray. "We are sad to leave the university, however, the event was selling out months in advance so we knew we had to move it and make it bigger due to demand from the fans."

Tickets cost £49 (£55 with afterparty) and go on sale on Friday, November 17.
