This week's Q&A is with Ivan Fernandes, Bryan Van Der Anzala and Joaquin Justinien of Gia Sai Agency, head promoter of Black Coffee’s night at HI Club Ibiza.
What was your first job in music?
Joaquin Justinien: I started as promoter for Elrow in Barcelona then Elrow in Ibiza. After a couple of seasons then started to work as PR Manager for Paradise and now am are running the Black Coffee party at Hï Ibiza.
Ivan Fernandes: My first job in music was in London back in the days bringing the electronic house music to West End where at that time there was only Hip-Hop and commercial music.
How long have you been in your current role?
JJ: We launched Gia Sai Agency in April 2016 and we are working on the Black Coffee party since the beginning of the year. It's two amazing projects that we are really proud about!
What is your favourite thing about working in the live music industry?
Bryan Van Der Anzala: It's a captivating industry and we feel lucky to be part of it. We are able to travel to the best places around the world, doing what we love surrounding by cool personalities!
What is the one thing you would like to change about the business?
IF: It's a really competitive environment when it comes to business. Sometimes you can feel it's not about having fun but it's about making money. It's not what we all about and if this could change the party scene would be even better!
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
JJ: We had a few highlights already, we have been working with Elrow for two years and with Paradise for three years, definitely two of the best parties at the moment! The eight years in Ibiza have been the highlights of so far!
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
IF: The best party we had was in Tulum, like four years ago before it becomes what is it now. We had this amazing party in Sian Khan, in a private villa in the middle of the jungle, the vibe was just unreal! The crowd was on point, the Music and the atmosphere was out of this world, definitely the best party we had in our life so far. Ivan's biggest event so far was at Circoloco Ibiza closing when they had all top DJs artists from ibiza playing together in a very long an amazing day.
