The five nominees have been revealed for the Grassroots Venue: Spirit Of The Scene honour at the 2020 Music Week Awards.
Created in collaboration with the Music Venue Trust, the award aims to recognise the vital contribution that grassroots venues make to the music industry. Venues must have a capacity of less than 500 to qualify.
The winner will be announced at this year's awards ceremony at Battersea Evolution on May 6,
The shortlist is as follows:

• The Sugarmill, Stoke
• Thekla, Bristol

Previous winners are Leeds' Brudenell Social Club (2017), Guildford's The Boileroom (2018) and Edinburgh's Sneaky Pete's (2019).
