Music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins has announced the inaugural Get Loud awareness day, which will feature a series of exclusive intimate gigs.
Acts including Tinie Tempah, Giggs, Katy B, Alison Moyet, Madness, Squeeze, Leo Green and Slaves have all pledged their support and will play live sessions on Tuesday, June 8. SSE is supporting the event and further names will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
Julie Whelan, chief executive of Nordoff Robbins, said: “Launching our first Get Loud awareness day is an exciting milestone for Nordoff Robbins. On June 8, some amazing artists will be supporting Nordoff Robbins by performing a Get Loud gig and people up and down the county will be putting on their own fundraising event.
“Through Get Loud, we want to raise awareness of our life changing work and funds to help support the development of our services. Our goal is to ensure that more people in more parts of the county have access to music therapy. Music reaches people in a way that nothing else can, please join us and Get Loud for Nordoff Robbins!”
An online prize draw hosted by official ticketing partner Ticketmaster will open on May 26, and people wanting to the chance to win a pair of tickets to see their favourite acts up close and personal will be asked to donate £3 to the charity. Successful entrants will then be announced on May 27. People can register for tickets at www.nordoff-robbins.org.uk/GetLoud
Nordoff Robbins will also be inviting the public to Get Loud in their own way; from putting on their own show, to hosting karaoke and music quiz events to raise crucial funds and awareness for the charity.
