Whether you’re after sparkly indie-pop in a record shop or a truckload of grime MCs in Hammersmith, this week might just have something for everyone when it comes to gigs.
Thursday, July 27
Declan Mckenna, Rough Trade East, 6:30pm
Celebrating the release of debut album What Do You Think About The Car?, the Hertfordshire waif hits Brick Lane for some meaningful indie-pop bombast.
Friday, July 28
Crows + Uncanny Valley, The Tram Depot, 7pm
A good old tear-up to ease yourself into the weekend from agitated punks Crows. Watch out for runaway singer James Cox if you’re in the front rows. He loves a wander.
Saturday, July 29
Ghetts + Angel + Wstrn + Shakka + JME + Wretch 32, Eventim Apollo, 5:30pm
What a bill this is. Showing the true depth of talent UK rap at the moment, this bumper line-up treads a path between Ghetts’ raw grime to Wretch 32’s soulful, more poppier take on things.
Goat + The Moonlandingz + Jane Weaver, O2 Academy Brixton, 6:30pm
Meanwhile, down in Brixton, Swedish psych maniacs Goat are in town for the night, with deranged Sheffield lot The Moonlandingz and the far more pleasant - but no less intense - Jane Weaver for company. Another awesome line-up.
Wednesday, August 2
Juanita Stein, Thousand Island, 7pm
Signed to Nude Records, the Howling Bells singer goes solo, playing songs from debut America in North London.
