MTV has announced details of MTV Presents Varna Beach, its first major international production to be held in Bulgaria.
Staged in conjunction with Varna City Municipality, the event will take place on Saturday, July 15, and will feature a "strong line-up of artists", to be announced.
“Varna is a beautiful, lively and cultural destination, making it the perfect location for a live music event,” said Mark Swift, SVP, commercial and international ad sales, Viacom International Media Networks UK. “We can’t wait to get to work on this event, alongside Varna City Municipality, to create a stand out night for the people of Varna, whilst highlighting to the tourism industry what Bulgaria has to offer.”
As part of the event, MTV presents Varna Beach will produce a special show live from Varna, which will be broadcast internationally on MTV’s flagship music TV channels.
The link-up continues MTV’s long history of partnering with tourist boards and councils to promote cities and regions to youth audiences. Recent stand out live music collaborations include MTV Crashes events in Plymouth and Coventry, Club MTV events in Croatia, Derry, Gothenburg and Swansea. MTV Presents Gibraltar Calling has also just been announced to take place later this year in September.
