Rudimental are to headline Legends of Football 2019.
Legends of Football supported by Equals, is an annual charity event with the backing of the Premier League in aid of music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins.
Former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger will receive the 2019 award on October 7 at JW Marriott Grosvenor House.
Rudimental lead singer DJ Locksmith said: “The whole band are huge football fans so we can’t wait to perform in October. It will be particularly special for me as an Arsenal fan to get the chance to attend and honour Arsène for all his years of service. He was Mr Arsenal for twenty years and gave so much to the club.”
Rudimental recently co-produced the official Cricket World Cup song, Stand By, with new artist Loryn. The band are currently playing a residency at Ibiza Rocks Hotel.
Wenger will follow in the footsteps of Sir Alex Ferguson, Pelé and Frank Lampard, who received the award last year.
The dinner has raised £8 million since Jimmy Greaves was guest of honour at its inaugural event in 1996.
Geoff Shreeves, Sky Sports presenter and Legends of Football chairman, added: “We’re delighted to welcome aboard the Rudimental boys for this year’s event, in aid of Nordoff Robbins. Having visited the Nordoff centre earlier this year, they saw for themselves the power of music therapy. We look forward to another brilliant evening on October 7 and can’t wait to honour another Premier League legend with the help of one of the UK’s most popular bands.”
