Happy Mondays and Ocean Colour Scene are to headline a new summer festival at Knebworth from August 31 to September 2.
The inaugural edition of Cool Britannia is promoted by David Heartfield and Halcyon Festivals. Heartfield previously operated the 80s Rewind Festival, South West Four, Boardmasters and Field Day. The four events were acquired from Impresario Festivals by Broadwick Live in 2016.
Cool Britannia’s line-up also includes Embrace, The Lightning Seeds, Peter Hook & The Light, Cast, Heather Small, Dodgy, Space, Toploader and The South.
The festival will also see the premiere of Britpop Classical, which will feature a full orchestra with guest soloists such as The Farm’s Peter Hooton, Republica’s Saffron and Heaven 17’s Glenn Gregory performing Britpop favourites.
Cool Britannia has also teamed up with Ministry Of Sound for its Big Top stage featuring Todd Terry, Brandon Block and Jazzie B.
Tickets go on sale on February 2.
