Bestival promoters have announced plans to hold the festival one month earlier from 2018.
Organisers say that in response to customer feedback they have lodged an application with Purbeck Council to hold next year's event from August 2-5. It was previously held in September.
The festival relocated from the Isle Of Wight to the Lulworth Estate in Dorset in 2017 but battled adverse weather conditions, which caused the site to be briefly evacuated.
"We don’t like to rest on our laurels at Bestival HQ so after moving location last year we’re now moving date due to popular demand," said Bestival founder Rob Da Bank. "So many people from students to doctors and nurses and parents of school age kids have always thought we were too late in the season so we decided 2018 would be a good time to make the move and we’re now proud owners of an early August weekend. So, all the same colour, magic and madness but four weeks earlier.”
The pre-sale begins at 10am on Friday.
This year's Bestival was marred by the tragic death of 25-year-old Louella Michie, who was found in a wooded area on the edge of the festival site.
