Toby Leighton Pope and Steve Homer have been appointed as co-CEOs of AEG Live UK.
The pair will be based at AEG’s London office, reporting directly to AEG Europe president and CEO Tom Miserendino.
Both Pope and Homer previously spent over 15 years with rival firm Live Nation UK as senior vice presidents, although rumours of a possible switch started to circulate at the end of last year. Homer launched the Wireless Festival and Pope booked London’s Hard Rock Calling, both in Hyde Park.
During their career they have worked with several high profile international live acts, including Michael Buble, Katy Perry, Drake, Beyoncé, Arcade Fire, R.E.M, Rihanna, Roger Waters and Dolly Parton.
In their new role, the pair will be responsible for UK concert business with current touring artists, such as Justin Bieber, Rod Stewart, The Who and Shawn Mendes, the two London venues the Eventim Apollo and Indigo at The O2 and London’s Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time.
In a joint statement they said: “It’s been rumoured for a while and so we’re pleased to announce our move to AEG Live UK. Together we are excited to work with a great team with the aim of growing AEG Live UK.”
Miserendino added: “I am excited to welcome Toby and Steve to AEG and look forward to working with them as we continue to grow our business in the UK and Europe. With their leadership at AEG Live, I’m very confident we have a bright future ahead of us.”
Jay Marciano AEG COO, said: “Toby and Steve’s record in the live touring business speaks for itself. Together they have worked successfully with global stars, nurtured new talent and developed venues and festivals. They are a perfect fit for AEG Live’s growing operation.”
