Doctor Music Festival has become the first Spanish associate of eco-friendly group A Greener Festival.
The organisation raises the profile of environmentally friendly event management and helps festivals become more sustainable. In order to become an associate, a festival must adhere to the AGF’s 11-point code of conduct.
Doctor Music Festival was last held in 2000, when it featured Beck, Muse, Pet Shop Boys and Lou Reed. The reincarnated 50,000-capacity event will take place from July 12-14, 2019 at the same location as its first three years up to 1998 - Escalarre, in the Vall d’Àneu, in the Catalan Pyrenees. The line-up is yet to be announced.
A Greener Festival’s co-founder, Claire O’Neill, commented: “AGF are very happy to have Doctor Music Festival join as an associate member of A Greener Festival. It is encouraging to see the importance that the event places upon its sustainability actions and messaging. We look forward to working more closely with the event in the future.”
Neo Sala, founder of the Doctor Music Festival, added: “Being the first Spanish festival Associate to AGF is an honour and clearly shows our commitment to make sustainability our first priority in everything we are doing and will do to make this Reincarnation Edition an unforgettable experience to all our fans. We are sure AGF will help us to make that vision come true.”
Doctor Music Festival’s ethos emphasises the importance of sustainability. All the food served at the site will be sourced from organic agricultural and livestock farming and will be free of agrochemicals, transgenics and any kind of toxins.
