Meytal Shevach has been named as the A&R manager of Universal Music Israel.
The journalist and radio host takes up her position immediately and will lead efforts to sign and develop domestic talent.
“I am thrilled to have Meytal join the Universal team," explained Yoram Mokady, Universal Music Israel's MD.
"Her vast experience working within the local artist and music community, will help us to identify and develop the next wave of Israeli talent, as we look towards introducing our artists to new audiences around the world, whilst reaching new fans and achieving success domestically."
Shevach, who previously worked at Deezer, where she held the position of content and artist marketing manager, plus has acted as a musical advisor for X- Factor Israel, remains a podcast and radio host on Radio Tel Aviv, said she hoped the new role would bring a global focus to Israeli acts.
“It is an honour to join the Universal Music team in Israel," she said. "The arrival of UMI in Israel now provides a substantial link for domestic artists and labels to the international music industry and will help create more opportunities for local artists, creators and producers to reach new audiences around the world.”
UMG expanded its operations within the Middle East & North Africa (MENA), with the launch of new divisions in Morocco and Israel, earlier this year.
