The Independent Label Market will curate an all-female line-up for the first time as part of Soho Music Month in June.
Female founders of independent record labels will take over Soho's Berwick Street Market from 11am to 6pm on Saturday, June 16, with a selection of vinyl stalls selling the best of their rosters from limited edition runs, to coloured vinyl.
Participants will include Sarah Bolshi's Sunday Best, Nik Void’s OGenesis and H/O/D Records, Cherish Kaya and Katy Partridge's Kaya Kaya Records, Hannah Holland's Batty Bass, Sarah Howells' Seahorse Music, Brit Jean Williams' Blak Hand Records and Yvonne Page's Dig Vinyl.
Independent Label Market co-founder Katie Riding said: “We are delighted to be returning to Soho, this time bringing together some of the most inspirational women in the industry for the very first all-female Independent Label Market.
"As the music industry embraces MP3s and a more digital strategy, Independent Label Market is proving to be a valuable reminder of how music retail can be a social affair; people hanging out together as a community and buying records.”
Soho Radio will broadcast live from the market with a line up of three female DJs: Xanthe Fuller, Sophie Callis and Cherrie Flava, aka former Soul Jazz Records A&R Nicole McKenzie.
