Proper Music Group has reached an agreement with iconic indie label Hospital Records to handle its physical distribution for the UK and Ireland.
As part of the deal, Proper will serve as a central hub for Europe, holding finished goods and fulfilling orders from its London base into the label’s global partner network.
“We’re delighted to be starting a new relationship with Proper this Autumn,” said Chris Goss (pictured), managing director, Hospital Records. “After years of hard graft and good times with our friends and supporters at SRD, who have played a significant role in the growth of our label, Hospital are looking forward to building on that success with Drew and his team, and their expanding facilities and operations.”
Proper Music Group MD, Drew Hill, added: “Working with as distinguished a label as Hospital is going to be great and their commitment to providing quality, creative physical records is inspiring.”
The addition of Hospital Records to Proper’s distribution line-up represents a major step in the company’s continued expansion. And, in a further bid to bolster its presence in the market, the firm has appointed Dan Gilbert, former manager of dance retailer Massive Records, to the position of dance specialist sales representative.
Commenting on his new role, Gilbert said: “I’m excited to be joining Proper at a time when the business is not only expanding, but also diversifying its reach across different genres.”
