Alex Boateng on Island's new Urban Division recruits
Island Records’ head of urban, Alex Boateng, has told Music Week that his two new Urban Division hires represent “the final pieces of the puzzle”.
The Urban Division, which was formed in March 2017 and boasts Drake and Big Shaq among its roster, has installed Johnny Brocklehurst as head of marketing and Adele White as senior urban A&R manager.
Brocklehurst moves across from his previous post as Island’s senior marketing manager, while White arrives from Relentless Records.
