Music and technology company Q&A has appointed Charlie Kim as senior software engineer and Maria Gironas as director of video platform strategy.
It follows recent executive hires from Amazon, Universal and Paradigm. The company’s leadership team is made up of Troy Carter, J Erving and Suzy Ryoo, as well as chief operating officer Phillip Eubanks and chief product officer Tim Luckow.
Gironas served as a strategic partner manager on the artist development team at YouTube. She partnered with artists including Lauv, Julia Michaels, Tenille Arts, Neffex, Moss Kena and more to develop unique content strategies on the platform. At Q&A, she serves as the director of video platform strategy, focusing on building artist narratives through platforms such as YouTube and Tik Tok.
She brings over 10 years of experience in artist development, including working on national publicity or social media campaigns for artists and brands such as Fender, Emo Night Brooklyn, Taking Back Sunday, Bear Hands, Noah Gundersen and Pierce The Veil.
“I’m honoured to be joining Q&A to continue my passion for artist development,” said Gironas. “The team Suzy, J, and Troy have assembled not only share an artist first mentality, but a contagious hustle that excites me for all the amazing work we’ll be accomplishing as a team.”
Kim joins Q&A from his role as a lead developer for Hulu, where he led a software engineering team to build and launch data analysis platforms.
“I have always been interested in technologies igniting the evolution of the entertainment industry,” said Kim. “This is an incredible opportunity for me to build an infrastructure to evolve the music industry alongside Troy and the Q&A team.”
