Drake has today made Spotify history, with his hit single One Dance becoming the most streamed track in the service’s history.
The track, which spent 15 weeks atop the UK singles chart and has so far amassed sales of 1,744,188 has now totalled over 880 million streams on Spotify.
Drake is currently the No.1 artist on Spotify with more than 36 million monthly listeners and over eight billion total streams.
The previous most streamed Spotify track was Major Lazer’s Lean On. Conversely, it was Major Lazer’s track Cold Water that ultimately ended Drake’s reign in the UK singles chart, denying One Dance a 16-week stay at the top, which would have equalled the all-time record held by Bryan Adams for his track (Everything I Do) I Do It For You.
