Dellessa James has joined Amazon Music in the new role of senior artist relations manager, with a remit to steer the company’s black music strategy.
James has worked at BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra and Apple Music and will oversee playlists, creative direction and artist and label campaigns in her new role.

James previously served as executive producer of The Rap Show and Fire In The Booth on 1Xtra. After leaving the BBC in 2018, she worked alongsid Charlie Sloth at Apple Music. James has produced freestyles with artists including Drake, Stormzy, Megan Thee Stallion, Wretch 32 and Lil Baby.
James was at the BBC for 16 years, serving on the playlist team and producing shows for Trevor Nelson, Annie Mac, DJ Target, Nihal, MistaJam, Jo Whiley and Fabio and Grooverider.
