Deezer has made its SongCatcher feature available for Android users today (April 17).
The streaming platform added the audio recognition option for mobile last year. It followed Apple’s acquisition of Shazam.
The SongCatcher functionality, which is powered by ACRCloud, is available to premium and free users (who get to listen to saved songs in shuffle mode).
“We’re excited to bring music fans the ability to quickly identify and save their new favourite songs without leaving the app or interrupting their music experience,” said Deezer chief content and product officer Alexander Holland.
“Today we are proud to offer people 53 million tracks on our platform, and SongCatcher makes it possible to find out if the song you are hearing is one of them.”
