Cancer charity Trekstock has announced a new collection of band T-shirts from their Yellow Bird Project. Founded in 2006 but re-launched by Trekstock in 2017, the project is a fundraising initiative to support young adults in their twenties and thirties with cancer.
The newest collection features four exclusive shirts with original designs by Royal Blood, Wolf Alice, Everything Everything and Oh Sees. Previous bands that have designed shirts – also available now here – include Foals, The Maccabees, Alt-J, The Horrors, Hot Chip, Metronomy, Chvrches, The National and Bloc Party.
Speaking of their Yellow Bird design, Wolf Alice’s Ellie Rowsell said: "I tried to draw a werewolf but he came out looking all sad and vulnerable. I quite like the idea of things that are supposed to be menacing and scary showing their human, sensitive side – much like the Beast in Beauty and the Beast, so here is the loneliest werewolf on earth.”
Sophie Epstone, founder and CEO of Trekstock, added: “We are incredibly grateful that our Yellow Bird Project has garnered support from some of the very best artists in the world. Every individual design, makes an invaluable difference to not only helping fund our vital services, but generating much needed awareness for Trekstock and the young adults with cancer that we support.”
