Organisers of the International Live Music Conference (ILMC) have confirmed the event's midweek format is to become permanent after launching its 2019 edition.
The move, first trialled in 2017, follows a vote by ILMC’s 5,000 members. Next year's conference is set to run from March 5-8 and will feature its largest ever programme, with a new event dedicated to the next generation of industry leaders.
The launch of Futures Forum will see the final day of ILMC upscaled to invite 300 young professionals to discuss the evolution of the live business.
“Futures Forum will bring the individuals that currently define the business together with those who will drive its development,” said ILMC head Greg Parmley. “It’s an extra day of ILMC, and a chance to embrace new formats, and encourage fresh voices and different thinking.”
Both the ILMC Production Meeting (IPM) and Green Events & Innovations Conference take place on March 5, while Futures Forum bookends the conference week on Friday, March 8.
“With over 1,800 live music professionals attending an ILMC event during the week, it’s the focal point for the international business,” says Parmley. “We can’t wait to start announcing speakers and sessions shortly.”
The ILMC Gala Dinner & Arthur Awards celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2019. To mark the milestone, the industry’s Oscar-equivalents are moving to the Sheraton Grand Park Lane.
Companies supporting ILMC’s 2019 edition include Live Nation, Ticketmaster, CTS Eventim, DEAG, Showsec, MOJO Rental, WME Entertainment, eps, Commerzbank Arena, Eyellusion, Feld Entertainment and Buma Cultuur.
