Sainsbury’s Entertainment on Demand has launched a new music app for iOS and Android, promising access to over 30 million tracks and three million albums.
The announcement follows the re-launch of the supermarket’s music site earlier this year.
The app allows users to build and curate their own playlists both online and offline, downloading tracks from the Sainsbury’s Entertainment on Demand Music site.
Users can also sync seamlessly between devices, listening to music on their mobiles, tablets or directly on their desktops.
Nectar card users will be able to collect points through purchases on the Sainsbury’s Entertainment website, while points can be redeemed for any of the Sainsbury’s Entertainment on Demand services.
Speaking to Music Week, John Santamaria, product owner lead, said: “Sainsbury's Entertainment on Demand is proud to announce the recent launch of their Android and iOS Music apps. The app complements our existing eBooks, magazine and movies apps in allowing our customers to enjoy their digital entertainment whenever and wherever they want to.
"The iOS app has AirPlay capability and we will be looking to add new features to both apps imminently based on customer feedback.”
Sainsbury’s Entertainment on Demand spans music, movies and TV, eBooks and magazines.
