U2 have unveiled a new song, The Blackout, as well as release details of an official single release and album.

A live recording was unveiled on Facebook with the message: “The Blackout, just for you. From upcoming album Songs Of Experience.”

You’re The Best Thing About Me, released on September 6, is the first official single from the album, a sequel to 2014’s Songs Of Innocence. That record was released free to iTunes customers, followed by a deluxe physical and digital edition. Songs Of Innocence has sold 64,955 copies, according to Official Charts Company data.

U2 are currently on US dates for their 30th anniversary Joshua Tree tour. The band played two shows at London’s Twickenham Stadium from July 8-9.
