The Classic BRIT Awards 2018 has announced more performances to complete the line-up for its 2018 return.
The event will be held for the first time in five years on June 13 at the Royal Albert Hall to celebrate both classical and music from the worlds of film, television, theatre and games.
Mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins leads the latest line-up announcement. Returning to the stage for her first television performance since the birth of her second child, she will perform Never Enough from the UK’s biggest selling album of 2018 so far, The Greatest Showman OST.
She said, “The Classic Brits have always been a special, memorable and loved event for me and so I’m delighted to have been chosen to return and perform at this year’s awards ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall. It’s hugely important that we continue to honour and recognise the talent and work of the Classical Music world and I wish all the nominees the best of luck on the night!”
Classic BRITs will also present a celebration of the career of theatre legend Andrew Lloyd Webber, who turned 70 earlier this year. The tribute will include a special performance by Meghan Picerno, currently starring as Christine in the tour of Love Never Dies.
Other performers will include 24-year-old pianist Beatrice Rana, Alexis Ffrench and Pretty Yende, and Andrea Bocelli and Bryn Terfel, who previously performed together at the 2003 awards. Tokio Myers will also appear with the full Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Dame Vera Lynn has already been announced as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, while Myers will be named Classic BRITs Breakthrough Artist Of The Year.
The winner of the Classic BRIT Awards’ Sound Of Classical Poll will also be revealed at the ceremony.
