Fresh from their imperious headline set at Glastonbury, this morning (June 28) Foo Fighters have confirmed they will be playing a very special show at London’s O2 Arena.
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and drummer Taylor Hawkins posted a video message this morning announcing the show, which is set to take place on September 19 as part of the O2’s 10th anniversary celebrations. Other acts taking part in the celebrations include alt-J, Céline Dion, Ed Sheeran and Jamiroquai.
O2 Priority customers can buy tickets for the gig from 12pm today. General sale begins a few hours later at 4pm.
Last week, Foo Fighters revealed that their ninth album, the follow-up to 2014’s Sonic Highways, will be called Concrete And Gold and is set to be released on Sept 15 via Columbia.
According to Official Charts Company data, Sonic Highways has sold 315,215 copies to date.
