Ed Sheeran has made history with his Irish 2018 stadium tour. All 315,000 tickets for the tour were sold in one day, marking the biggest ever number of tickets sold by an artist in Ireland in one day. Ed Sheeran's seven Irish stadium dates are now sold out.
Sheeran starts his tour on Friday 4 May 2018 in Cork. He follows his double header in Cork with one show in Belfast, two in Galway and two in Dublin. The tour finishes May 18, 2018.
Commenting on Sheeran’s achievement, Ticketmaster issued a statement saying: “Ticketmaster experienced its busiest day ever today. Ed Sheeran has been a phenomenal success, already breaking all our previous records. It is great to see so many fans getting tickets to concerts across the country; once again demonstrating our commitment to providing a first-class ticketing service while coping with unprecedented levels of traffic.”
Alongside his success in Ireland, Sheeran has added 4 more dates to his 2018 UK tour. He will play additional shows in Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle and Cardiff. Additionally, Ed made history for breaking the Scottish and Welsh record for the most stadium shows to take place in each country on the same tour run. Sheeran will be playing to over 1 million people on the UK dates alone.
