Modular synthesiser inventor, Moog dies

Moog died at his home in Asheville, North Carolina. He had been diagnosed with the condition glioblastoma multiforme in April of this year, and had undergone radiation treatments and chemotherapy.

Although he also developed the theramin, Moog's greatest contribution to music was the invention of the Moog Modular Synthesiser, which first went on sale in 1964.
