Programming was interrupted at 7:15pm with what listeners reacting over Twitter described as "porno" noises, according to Radio Today.
Jazz FM has put the interruption down to "unauthorised access to the live feed".
The full apology from Mike Vitti comes from the Jazz FM website and follows below:
"Unfortunately we had an unauthorised access to the live feed on Jazz FM on Saturday 18th February at 7:15pm which resulted in a highly regrettable incident.
